Zoo Med Natural Tortoise Food

Zoo Med Natural Grassland Tortoise Food is a natural, high-fiber diet for tortoises. This formula contains long-stem fibers, an important part of a tortoise’s natural diet. Zoo Med’s Grassland Tortoise Food contains this necessary fiber that is not found in many other commercial foods. It also includes nutritious dandelion greens, yucca and other plants that tortoises love. These pellets are formulated for all Grassland Tortoise species, such as Russian, Greek, Sulcata, Leopard, Pancake, Hermann’s and Desert Tortoises.

Feeding Instructions

Feed free choice and change daily. Moisten pellets with water to stimulate feeding behavior and create a flavorful mash that tortoises love. Many tortoises enjoy lettuce; however diets made of mostly lettuce are unnaturally high in protein and low in fiber. If your tortoise will only eat lettuce, thoroughly mix small amounts of lettuce into moistened Natural Grassland Tortoise Food. Slowly reduce the amount of lettuce offered at each feeding until your tortoise has switched to Natural Grassland Tortoise Food. Always provide clean drinking water (use Zoo Med's Repti Safe water conditioner to treat tap water). Store unused food in a cool, dry area.
